I enjoyed your images. But, since I am new to image transfer I would like to know how you got your images so clean along the edges? Do you simply cut your edges off? Or do you cut the negative? Another question, are most of the images done dry or wet? Thanks, JB

Answers

There is a thin paper frame between the Polaroid negative and positive. It usually sticks to the positive. If it stays with the negative you will get clean edges in the transfer picture. I am peeling off the negative starting from the other side than it is normally done (from the side of metal strip after cutting it off). With some practice and the aid of twizers it works. I have developed this technique because, some time ago, I had troubles to peel off the negative in a normal way (something was wrong with my box of film). I am working with 4X5 film (type 59) and I am not sure how it would work with other formats.

I am also trying to control the appearance of edges by applying different pressure to the roller. E.g., in the picture of ghost farm , I was experimenting with fading corners.

All presented images are result of the wet transfer.
