The excellent London Walks Company http://london.walks.com/ are coming to Kennington, offering historical walking tours from Kennington Tube Station at 1430 on Saturday 6 December and at 1045 on Sunday 8 February. At only £5 per person they are a very good way of learning about the area, and getting some gentle exercise as well!
Updated 22 November 2003Lambeth Council have refused to give planning permission for the 180 metre (590 foot) St George's tower at the upstream end of the Effra site just upstream of Vauxhall Bridge. Above is an artist's impression of the view from Westinster Bridge. The proposal will now be considered by a public inquiry in 2004.
