are sony decks and XL1 compatible?

I am using an XL1 to record footage onto a sony premium mini dv tape. Then I use a sony DSR-11 Deck to capture that footage into FCP on a G4. The audio is always out of sync with video once captured to the mac starting with 1 frame off and progessively becomes more out of sync. 30 minutes into the capture will be around 10 frames off. Is this because the xl1 canon and the sony deck are not compatible? Is there a dv deck that is known for being compatibe with the xl1 and FCP?
