My Kitty Needs a Scratching Post!!!

Hi! I am Anne Sojeski, writing from Yorkshire, England. My kitty, Talia, keeps scratching my sofa. I put double sided tape on there, but Talia just keeps biting it off. I don't want to buy a scratching post, because I know I can make one, but how? Please, if you can, e-mail me if you know how to make a scratching post. Thank you so much!
