MIDI controller thru 2600 to 2500R

Can play our drum pads (FAT KAT)into our 2600--but I want to access the 2500r that is connected via MIDI--- ,,,,,,,path>>> MIDI out from PADS to... IN of 2600 for sequencing OUT to ...IN of 2500R ---we can play the 2500R via the keys of the 2600??? Just not directly through the 2600 via Pads??
