Response to anamorphic lens

I just shot my latest short on DV with an animorphic lens. The results are breathtaking! being a photographer by trade I was able to capture cinematic style shots. The problem is that you need to somehow attach the big bulky lens to a camera that is almost half the weight. and then trying to squeeze it into the correct aspect in post has it's tricks. Personally though, my next film I'm just going to shoot with a wide angle lens and chop the top and bottom. It might not look as good to the trained eye, but if it's just going to remain on tape with no blow up... it's the best way to go imho.
