Additional thanks, everyone!(posted 8183 days ago)Nigel, I find models all over the place (and some find me). : ) Some are professional, part-time, or aspiring models that I meet through other photographers or over the internet. Some are women I've met hanging out in bars and cafes, at parties, or on the street. Some are women who have been introduced to me by friends or acquaintences.

Forget about "art" and compromise, and just take some photos of her! Doesn't matter whether they're good or not, just do it. I take lots of lame photos all the time--it's a major reason I'm able to take some that are worthwhile. "Man cannot leap to the absolute; he must go forward from where he stands." Stop thinking you have to pick up the camera and do great things--just pick up the camera and do stupid things. Try to take the worst snapshots imaginable. Shoot a whole roll with your eyes closed. Stick the camera in your pants and shoot out your fly--just do something!! Dare to suck! It's liberating. . .
