Distortion while AVI files in EDIT DV

I need to combine MOV files shot with digital video camera (*.MOV) files and AVI files (captured on screen movements with Hypercam). When I put the segments together (these are instructional video clips), AVI files distort (give ghosts etc.) but MOV files are looking great. Any suggestions? Thanks. - Anjali Nandedkar
