99 power assited steering rack

I have a 1973 99 EMS that has a standard rack and pinion steering rack. I would like to replace that with one of the power assited models that came on 99s as soon as a year later. My questions are, has anyone successfully done this, or tried and found it not feasible? And, what year of 99 or possibly even 900 racks would I be able to use for this?
