tony: your critique is certainly far from "too rough". my cousin's portrait was not done with any expectation that the image might qualify as "art". just a representation of a guy living in his favorite environment. the image would be right at home in the "wedding photography" forum, if it existed. you are also spot on about the inconsequence of the color medium; at the same time, i don't feel that having the image done in b&w would have made it any better.
