I realize that :-)(posted 8838 days ago)...But if I'm trying to get f11 with my subject (which I try almost always to do), then I need at least f11 with a white background (since it's a couple stops over human flesh anyways...), preferably f11-1/2 to f16 for good measure...I've been toying with the idea of eventually getting 2 cheapo Vivitar 285's and using them for even backgrounds, and then use the two Metz units creatively together on ther subject...
