<< Hi Mike, It looks like you are starting a new forum. this is a great idea, one would think that there should be a gigantic kurzweil forum in place, but i can't find one.>>

Thanks, the forum hasn't been a great success though. Most people are posting on the K2000 users list instead. << I was recently told that the kdfx can't be used as a digital out to bypass the not so hot a to d... digitec converter outs, and get a great clean digital out that i can go directly into the mac with. I was told i need the pricy dmti instead. It seems from this information you posted, and from i thought i understood from kurz that i could get the kdfx option and use it for a digital out.. and get some good efx as well. any thoughts? If i just used the optical outs and converted to spdif in on the 2408 would i still be going through the a to d...da.da.da digitec converter sequence?>>

With KDFX you can use the digital outs and BYPASS the digitech completely. This can only be done at 48kHz sampling rate. The DMTi option is not needed unless you want 8 independent streams of audio. << I also wonder if you know how to record and playback in a sequencer (MOTU), a 'setup' on the kurzweil. THis seems to be a problem since the re are multiple midi channels with a setup? Trying to record a sequence in motu with the kurz causes the system to crash.>>

The only sequencer that I know of that allow you to do this is Logic. On one track you can access as many different MIDI channels on as many different MIDI devices as you want....with full control over key ranges, velocity switching, arpegios..etc.
