Response to Occasional Lockups on K2500S

from Carl Erhorn (cerhorn@hysoft.com)
Hi, Mike. I think I found what caused my lockup. It happened again, so I ran the internal diagnostics. I noticed that it said my PRAM expansion was not found! I opened it up, and found that the PRAM had become loose in the sockets. I reseated it, and have had no further problems. However, the pins seem pretty loose even when seated all the way down. Do you recommend a spot of solder to hold them in place? I move the K2.5 fairly often, using a flight case, but it still could come loose again, and I'd hate to have to open up the unit in a club while everyone is waiting. Is there any approved manner to strengthen the connection? I don't intend to ever remove the PRAM, so soldering one pin on each end would do the trick.
